Why Trump Won’t Save the Rust Belt – The New York Times

view to the west

“He ignores the fact that many of Michigan’s auto industry jobs were lost to automation, or to foreign manufacturers operating in the right-to-work South, because depicting the Chinese, Japanese and Mexicans as job-stealing alien villains better fits his America First narrative.”

The past is gone, move on, if you are in your 50’s or 60’s, that old manufacturing job is dead and no one can bring it back. Young workers have a chance to get a job in the “knowledge-based” industries, but of course they have to learn content. There is no more job waiting for you right off from high school.   The Trump, as always, is dealing in deception, do not be fooled.                                                           via Why Trump Won’t Save the Rust Belt – The New York Times

I love media and communication, as well as digital technology. I write and speak fluently in Spanish and English. I was born in New York, but was sent to Puerto Rico at an early age, where I lived until drafted by the U.S. army. Upon returning from an honorable discharge, I found Puerto Rico small and limited at the time. I moved to Boston where I pursued musical studies and later worked as a musician, teacher, and speech-pathologist in New York. I am currently still interested in world politics, social justice, and income inequality. Health and wellness are essential to survive and thrive. I am working on patience and skills necessary to keep learning.
