Bannon Indicted on Contempt Charges Over House’s Capitol Riot Inquiry

Stephen K. Bannon, a former top aide to Donald Trump, had refused to comply with subpoenas from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress.

Stephen K. Bannon, a onetime senior aide to former President Donald J. Trump, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Friday on two counts of contempt of Congress, after his refusal to provide information to the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

After holding Mr. Bannon in contempt, the House referred the matter to the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington for a decision on whether to prosecute him.

Mr. Trump has directed his former aides and advisers to invoke immunity and refrain from turning over documents that might be protected under executive privilege.

Opinión

This individual has been looking for relevancy and notorierity since the ex-US-president was elected. His extreme views and a history of non-achievement disqualified him from public office then, but that did not stop him from achieving a disturbing position in the anti-democracy movement. I am sure that a subpoena will marginalize further this dangerous operator.
